January 29th Plan
I am someone who supported the defeated Ottawa U to Barrhaven double track electrified line as the best place to begin. With the defeat of that proposal, I am persuaded that the FOTO plan, particularly with the recent suggested extensions, is the best place to start in addressing Ottawa's long term transit needs. I complement the FOTO group in sticking with their ideas and sustaining their energies and enthusiasm. I would very much hope that the considerable momentum that may be generated by the January 29th proposals can convert into early decisions by city council to begin immediately on those portions of the plan that require few if any fresh environmental studies.
