Interprovincial Transit Strategy: Questionnaire

Are you interested in improving interprovincial transit in the Region? Help us develop the best solution for a seamless transit service between the downtowns of Gatineau and Ottawa by completing an Online Comment Sheet.

This questionnaire is intended for anyone that lives, works or commutes in the core area of the National Capital Region and who is interested in improving traffic flow and mobility.

Your responses will help inform the Interprovincial Transit Strategy which is currently in Phase II of its consultation program. The ultimate goal of the Strategy is to determine a viable solution for seamless interprovincial transit mobility through the downtown cores of Gatineau and Ottawa.

The Online Comment Sheet takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete and focuses on the evaluation criteria that will be used to determine the best solution for the Region. The closing date to complete and submit the Comment Sheet is August 17.

You can access the Comment Sheet by clicking on the following link:

For most commuters, the National Capital Region is a continuum. Gatineau and Ottawa form an increasingly integrated metropolitan economy, labour market, insurance companies housing market, environmental system and watershed, independent of geographic boundaries. As the region undergoes population and employment growth, the Interprovincial Transit Strategy will identify solutions to move people more seamlessly and efficiently in and through city cores, and explore the challenges and opportunities of our current and future transit systems in delivering a continuous interprovincial service.

By better integrating interprovincial transit services, riders will be better served and ridership will increase. Yet, this solution is not just about transit; it’s also about improving quality of life for both commuters and non-commuters. An integrated transit service will have a beneficial ripple effect on the downtown cores’ character.
