As the city showed off its new C-Train cars Wednesday, provincial and federal politicians committed to providing more money for Calgary's transit system.
Calgary officials celebrated the unveiling of the first 15 of 40 new cars for Calgary Transit, which were purchased two years ago at a cost of $158 million and started hitting the streets about six months ago.
"These cars today were an order that was placed well over two years ago and (show) the importance of a long-term funding commitment," Mayor Dave Bronconnier said Wednesday. "A long-term funding agreement commitment means a long-term investment in infrastructure."
