Councillors on the transportation committee ordered
city staff to continue with the detailed engineering
and design work and cost estimates for a bridge
connecting Earl Armstrong Drive and Strandherd
Road. The bridge was to be built in conjunction
with the now-defunct north-south light-rail project.
Under that plan, the bridge was expected to cost
about $40 million. A decision on whether to build
the bridge is expected next year.
